After a significant amount of trial and error over the course of this past week, I’m thrilled to announce that the blog is finally on a VPS. This is a change that has been a long time coming, and a change that was very much needed after 15 years.
That said, this change is live as of 7pm Pacific on July 17, 2026. This is a brand-new server, and there are some things that may still be migrating over from the previous one… or I missed them in error… SSL is going to be weird for a bit while certificates update for the new server so yes, you may get SSL warnings for a bit. I’m working on it.
If something seems like it’s horribly broken, do give me a shout on BlueSky, and I’ll take a look in to it. Once things calm down from the initial flipping of the switch, I’m hoping this new server brings dramatic performance and uptime improvements. Traffic to here has been up significantly over the last year, and the old server was struggling badly to keep up.
