ZREO IS BACK FOR A SECOND QUEST

New music after ten years featuring string quartet “ATLYS”

SACRAMENTO, CA, — After nearly ten years, ZREO is back once more for a “Second Quest.” ZREO: Second Quest continues its quest to produce high-quality orchestral arrangements of music from The Legend of Zelda™ video game series.

ZREO: Second Quest partners with string quartet, ATLYS, to produce a stunning virtuoso arrangement of Hyrule Field from The Legend of Zelda™ Ocarina of Time™. ATLYS performs the iconic theme arranged by ZREO Studios’ lead composer, Ari Fisher, in a classical tour de force showcasing their talent as players while proving that four players can be as powerful as an entire orchestra.

Hyrule Field feat. ATLYS is available now on Bandcamp, and it will available on all streaming platforms at noon CEST December 24th, 2021.

Hyrule Field feat. ATLYS was created during the COVID-19 pandemic at a time when various lock-downs and social isolations were in effect. Due to this limitation, musicians all over the world began “remote recording” from home with professional recording equipment. The necessity of working from home has allowed the ZREO: Second Quest team to partner with musicians from all corners of the globe to help produce these arrangements while at the same time supporting working musicians during difficult times.

“Video game music deepened my devotion and love of music. Ocarina of Time was my introduction to the Legend of Zelda™ universe. I loved the music instantly,” from the arranger, Ari Fisher.

Hyrule Field feat. ATLYS was a special piece to me. It was originally a virtuoso arrangement for two violins, but producers Samuel Ferrara and Jeron Moore encouraged me to expand this piece for a fuller string section while remaining true to the vision of Koji Kondo’s orchestral version.”

He continues, “ATLYS is the only group I’ve met that truly understands my music; an ensemble of friends that I trust musically and professionally, and I have dedicated this piece to ATLYS for their inspiration and loyal friendship.”

“The energy and spirit of this music have captured generations, and to play it in such pure form as a string quartet is nothing short of exhilarating,” says Sabrina Tabby, violinist of ATLYS. “It is so vividly apparent how much heart Ari and Sam have poured into this project and makes it effortless for us to do the same. This is just the beginning!”

Originally founded in 2004, ZREO is committed to lush symphonic performances of the greatest songs from The Legend of Zelda™ composed by Koji Kondo, Toru Minegishi, Kenta Nagata, Hajime Wakai, Asuka Ohta, and others at Nintendo® as they would have sounded with the warm halls and intimate expression of live players. ZREO: Second Quest continues that legacy featuring many live musicians for upcoming releases.

ATLYS is a classically trained, crossover string quartet composed of four unique women. Lauded for their passionate and dynamic performances and signature sound, they create concert experiences that are both mesmerizing and interactive. With over 1,000 performances under their belt, they have inspired listeners across the globe. During these socially distant times, ATLYS has revolutionized their paradigm, perfecting the art of remote recording, launching a YouTube tutorial series to inspire young musicians, and publishing their unique arrangements.
