Published December 29, 2022 Picture Post: More shimekazari hung up yesterday, this one in the home office. If you’re wondering what they are, they’re traditional Japanese New Years decorations that traditionally would actually go above a door. I don’t think the apartment would like me putting a nail in the hallway wall though… They’re primarily made of hemp and rice straw, which does make them a bit fragile and definitely not cat proof.
