Picture Post: More shimekazari hung up yesterday, this one in the home office. If you’re wondering what they are, they’re traditional Japanese New Years decorations that traditionally would actually go above a door. I don’t think the apartment would like me putting a nail in the hallway wall though… They’re primarily made of hemp and rice straw, which does make them a bit fragile and definitely not cat proof.

Photo of a bag of newly opened coffee from Sister's Coffee Company located in Sisters, OR.

Picture Post: Today’s coffee: Sabelo Timor-Leste from @sisterscoffee. While I’ve had their coffee at their Pearl location a few times before after learning about them in a roundabout way from work, never picked up their beans before. They were a good price at Whole Foods, and I felt like changing things up. And yes, they’re local to Oregon in Sisters, OR, where they’re been family-run since 1989.
