If you’ve reached this post from Google, greetings! You are part of an insane amount of traffic I was not expecting, and I’ve received more than a few emails asking about what is happening with Nora.
Nora departed the Oregon Zoo on January 13, 2026.
Nora was originally scheduled to depart at the end of November 2025, however according to her keepers, FedEx was unable to accommodate her as originally planned due to extremely high cargo load from the holiday rush. They were unable to provide an updated timeline and said they are, “taking things one day at a time.” The best recommendation I can make at this time is to stay tuned to Portland news agencies, the zoo’s news feed, or visit the zoo and hope for the best. Make sure to check hours before you go as December is weekday maintenance month for the zoo.
Update: Good news. Nora will be here a little longer because FedEx canceled her flight tomorrow.
