At the time, there was nothing else like it in the US and to some extent, there still isn’t. It made me stop taking what we had in Philly for granted and realize what a properly funding public transport system looked like. This marvel of technology and engineering is why I will never stop fighting to remind the City of Portland that they own a streetcar system. Portland Streetcar started a revolution for transit in the US in 2001. It’s time to revolutionize it again.
