An Update On Australia

As I previously promised, today I’d like to give an update on where things stand with co-op abroad in Australia. I’m relieved to finally announce that save for a final bill and finalizing homestay arrangements, everything is now set.

As I’ve already let slip to a few people and teased on Sunday, during my time in Australia, I’ll be working in Melbourne (which turns out to be the capital of the state it’s in, Victoria) for Accenture Australia. I leave next week on Thursday the 19th, arriving in Melbourne on Saturday the 21st thanks to the time travel (scientific name: Jetlag). Since homestay isn’t finalized yet, I don’t know if I’ll actually be living in Melbourne or which of its suburbs it will be. I do now know that Melbourne has the largest tram system in the world, which I hope I’ll be able to use to my advantage. And just to rub it in, I get to do Spring and Summer again. And since I literally just found this out (I’m writing this at 1:33am for the record), yes, I’ll get to take advantage of that tram system so that now leaves the bill as the last matter to take care of (funny how I just paid the Drexel bill today and now have a new bill to pay. Such is life.)

So to summarize:

  • I leave for Melbourne VIC, Australia on September 19th.
  • I’ll be working for Accenture Australia in Melbourne.
  • I return to the US on what appears to be the March 14th at night.
  • I’m told my neighbour may or may not be a kangaroo (just kidding. I don’t know if I’ll even see one.)

Now to attempt to work on my Australian terminology.
